Free WordPress Theme- Orange Squash
Yup, I’ve released another fruity WordPress theme. The fruit of the moment is the Orange, so naturally I decided to call it “Orange Squash”
As usual, it’s available to preview and download over at WordPress.
Requests
I’ve had a few people throw in some theme requests over the past few weeks. Apparently our fruit basket is short of a Banana theme. I’ll hopefully get around to that in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.
While i’m happy to take requests, i’d just like to remind you all that building free templates is not our core business; it’s just something we’re experimenting with 
We actually DO charge clients for most of our professional services.
Support
A few people have required support, which I’m more than happy to provide. In some cases, i’ve recoded a few themes to meet the demands of individuals that want to use our themes. Like I said, more than happy to do that. So if you have any problems, just let me know, and I’ll do my best to assist.
Apologies, due to my high volume of workload, I can no longer offer free support for any of the free WordPress themes i’ve released. Support is only available at an hourly rate- more details can be found on the Services page. Once again, I apologise.

Going for a new look, hmmm. IMHO, I think you should stick with the design scheme you used for Citrus & Strawberry. The Orange Squash is all good and such, but it doesn’t have that trademark taste meaning if I see Citrus/Strawberry theme, I can immediately identify it as BrightCherry’s theme. However, this one seems like “seen too many times, been there too often” feel. If I dare to suggest, how about calling these “Fruity” themes, stick with the Citrus/Strawberry core design and utilize these major fruits? Apple, Watermelon, Kiwi, Banana(in the works), Cherry(since your site’s name is BrightCherry lol), Pineapple and Grape. After that, maybe if you find time a “Vegie” theme using the same core design would be cool, too. Carrot, Tomatoe, Lettuce, Potato… etc.

However, I’m just trying to provide a little variety. I don’t want to create too many of the same themes, because some people may not like them
We intend on working through a large variety of the fruits you mentioned, it’s just getting the time to get through them all!

I’ve never ever seen blog posts with so many categories lol.
I’ve had to modify a bit of the code/design to accommodate your particular blog. There are small visual changes (I don’t know if you’ll like them), but try it out and see how you get on.

You only need to upload the following files:
style.css, search.php, index.php, archive.php, single.php.

Hi guys – really like the design, and I’ve had a crack at integrating it into my site.
One thing though: I wondered if it was possible to have comments listed below the post, as opposed to alongside? I also wondered if it’s possible to keep the sidebar info in place when the post is clicked on and read?
Sorry to be cheeky and ask, but I’m swimming in code and thought you might have some advice!

The comments should appear below the posts. But you’ve removed the sidebar- was that intentional?
If you put the sidebar back in, everything should work as normal.

Anyway, I’m something of a “trial and error” designer! I’m really not sure how I managed to remove the sidebar from the blog post pages. It shows up (for me) on the main blog. I assume that I need to add somewhere – but I’m not sure where!

Some pages seem extremely odd. Anyways, download this version of the “single.php” page and replace your current version. Hopefully everything will look better.

I’m using your theme for my new food blog. Loving the way it looks.
I’m having one small issue though. A couple people have pointed out to me that if you load the site in Internet Explorer, the bulleted or numbered items

It seems that after everything is completely loaded it looks the way it should, but it takes quite a a long time for that to happen. The site loads just fine in Firefox. Here’s the url so you can check it out: http://www.wheatfreemeatfree.com.

Doesn’t look like it. I’ve looked at the site in IE7 on two different computers. I forgot to add in my first comment that the most recent post loads normally, it’s just the older posts that have issues with the bulleted points.
I don’t know if maybe your internet connection is fast enough that everything looks ok by the time you scroll down? But as I said, I’ve looked at it on two computers and I’ve had two other people report to me they’ve seen it. I just started a WP blog using Orange Crush. Thanks! I love the colors and feel of the site. However, I would like to change the or maybe it’s the “insert more tag” function. Instead of showing four lines of my text, is it possible to disable the shortening of the text so that the whole blog text is shown on the front page?

You just need to open up index.php and replace the_content(); with the_excerpt();

I’m a bit confused because the code is stated this way in Orange Squash:
Excerpt is already there. So do I replace excerpt with the word content?
Because I did try that and nothing changed even when I deleted the old index.php and added the new changed one.
I’ve reverted back to the old one stated as above, but I don’t see anything else that might be the code your are referring to.

Ahh sorry, yeah, I meant replace the_excerpt(); with the_content();
That should work. If not, there is another setting in the control panel which also sets if you want to show a summary or full text. Make sure full text is selected.
But it should def be the_content(); as opposed to the_excerpt();

Hi Maruf, I am having some trouble using the Orange Squash. Look at http://www.nadiamoya.com.br using IE6 or IE7. Both are presenting some problems.
You will see I changed the look a little, but I think it should work anyway, right?
Do you know what do I have to change to work with the IEs?

Another satisfied orange-squash user here. I’ve noticed though that the #comments and #respond anchor tags don’t work from my home page when I use the “More” functionality to abbreviate the post. I saw this article on a WP forum: http://codex.wordpress.org/Migrating_Plugins_and_Themes_to_2.7/Enhanced_Comment_Display Is it possible I need to upgrade my comments.php file to work correctly? (I’m using WP 2.8.3 now.)

Also, the catblock div tag seems to float too high in some browsers. Looks like the bottom:12px below in Safari works fine, but in IE and Firefox, it raises the category tag too high:

Well I guess I’ve hacked workarounds to both of my problems–I removed the catblock div entirely (not sure why it needed to be a div at all, perhaps I’ll find out why in time!) and moved the id=comments from the h4 header tag that lead the comment section to the ol (ordered list) tag.
Hope that helps anyone else struggling with these!

Regarding the category alignment – you’ll need to modify style.css. It will be located in the theme directory.
Find the following chunk of code:
.catblock{
position:relative;
width:400px;
float:right;
left:5px;
bottom:12px;
}
And replace it with:
.catblock{
position:relative;
width:400px;
float:right;
left:5px;
margin-top:3px
}
Regarding the image captions:
Find the following chunk of code in style.css:
.wp-caption p.wp-caption-text {
font-size: 11px;
line-height: 17px;
padding: 0 4px 5px;
margin: 0;
}
And replace with it:
.wp-caption p.wp-caption-text {
font-size: 11px;
margin: 0;
text-align:left;
width:90%;
padding:5px;
}

There is way to rectify be adding to each and every bullet point but as you may imagine thats cumbersome. Any ideas?
